Site Usage Grows Past 16.6 Million Pages! PDF Print E-mail

On Tuesday, 23 December, the site passed the 16,600,000 lifetime page mark. You will notice that the counter on each page now reflects the number of pages served over the 12 year lifespan of the site. It is only through the grace of God and the support of those users such as yourself that have made this site the success it has become. God bless you and your family as you enter the Christmas season and into the New Year!

Site Successfully Moved! PDF Print E-mail

We are happy to report that the site was successfully moved from SiteGround to BlueHost last week. This was done because the former host threatened to take the site off-line because it was using too many resources on their server. The new provider does not have usage policies that pose a real threat to the availability of the site. We are still testing the integrity of the site but feel that the site is stable enough to reopen. The only section that is not reliable is the Bible Search option. We are currently working on this service. If you notice anything else unusual, please let me know by leaving a message on our new forum.

Origin and Character of Christmas--No Foundation in the Bible PDF Print E-mail

By S. Mortensen

If Christmas is truly Christian, then the Bible ought to instruct us not only about the date when Jesus was born, but it should also contain a plain command from the Father that we should celebrate it. Many will be surprised that, in a thorough search of the Scriptures, they will not be able to find either date or precept for the celebration of the birth of Christ; no, not even the example of a single man who celebrated it during the time of Christ or the apostles.

Chap. 1 - The Birth of Jesus PDF Print E-mail

In the little town of Nazareth, nestled among the hills of Galilee, was the home of Joseph and Mary, who were afterward known as the earthly parents of Jesus.

Now Joseph was of the lineage, or family, of David; and so, when a decree was sent out for the people to be taxed, he had to go to Bethlehem, the city of David, to have his name enrolled. This was a toilsome journey, as people travelled in those times. Mary, who went with her husband, was very weary as she climbed the hill on which Bethlehem stands.

Daily Bible Text

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

Acts 2:38.

Daily Thought

If we love Jesus, we shall love to live for Him, to present our thank offerings to Him, to labour for Him. The very labour will be light. For His sake we shall covet pain and toil and sacrifice. We shall sympathise with His longing for the salvation of men. We shall feel the same tender craving for souls that He has felt. This is the religion of Christ. Anything short of it is a deception.

Christ's Object Lessons, p. 49, 50.
